As a private getaway, workshop facility or function center we try to provide all we can. Though the retreat is fairly new we are working towards having a very unique venue that can offer a different way of life. Being SOLAR POWERED and self sufficient we embrace a minimalist (clothing optional, only if appropriate to guests) lifestyle without losing all the simple comforts. We offer modest simple accomodation, which encourages everyone to come together more closely as a family, use only what you need ie:power and water and enjoy a freedom and quiet you will not find in the city. All in a safe private and totally secluded location.
Specializing in small intimate groups (minimum 6 adults, 2 nights), the lodge sleeps 30 & we encourage people to savor the peaceful simplicity this property provides. Surrounded by the bush and far from the stresses of everyday life you can truly relax and unwind.
As
well as the lodge we have a 144sq/m barn which is
used as a group area for functions, classes or just
getting together. It has a beautiful rustic
feel and in the evening with candles lit and
fire blazing makes for a very relaxing atmosphere.
Many groups use the barn for their workshop classes and celebration feast evenings. Music nights are very popular, we have enjoyed a number of gatherings with djembe drummers, guitars, flutes, digeridoos and dancers.
The barn has two wood burning fireplaces, lights, stereo and tons of atmosphere. Just outside is a bon fire area surrounded by log seats. Also a covered outdoor sitting area. All the timber of the barn was cut from this property, much of it left in it's natural form.
There are also numerous dams and walking tracks on the property to provide recreation and give you the option of getting away to a private spot in the bush to relax, swim in a dam and image you are far from anywhere. Many groups use this in their workshops, having the chance to gather together for warrior style weekends, personal empowerment or peer support training. This style of venue is very useful but hard to find.
There are even camp sites set in the bush for people after a simple, earthy experience. Tribal gatherings, sweat lodges and vision quests to name a few. The meditation/sunroom is situated in the centre of the retreat, ideal for treatments, small meditation groups or quiet solitude.
The options are many, or you can just lie by the pool and enjoy the quiet. You set your own pace. The main area of the property where the lodge, barn, homestead and pool are is on a 5 acre open lawn area at the top of a plateau surrounded by bush land. Well protected from the wind by the trees and surrounding hillsides.
There is abundant native wildlife as well as numerous pets, such as two camels Molly and Sandy, our dog Rosy, ducks, chooks and others!
Don't ask "why camels", WHY NOT. They provide much amusement and are wonderful at clearing the undergrowth in the bush creating a natural firebreak. Basicly they are a part of our family and we love them. No! they don't spit!
As well as the
camels we have all kinds of native wildlife that
come to the retreat on a reguler basis. Wallabies,
birds, goannas, possums, dingos, echidna &
wombat to name a few.
